Wtb schecter avenger

just curious if anyone knows about live sound, recording, dependability, of this model. or if there is any real difference between the flat topped revenger, and the arch topped avenger, other than the body molding, and price. I have my eyes on a few that are on ebay right now under electric/schecter keyword 7. one is an avenger bin$550.00, one is a revenger one bid $100.00, and the other looks like an arch topped avenger, but the auction says revenger(I've already messaged the seller) I noticed that the revengers say "Diamond Series" with the word "revenger" underneath. But the Avengers only say "Diamond Series"(like the mislabeled one does). Just curious if they are worth the effort. I really like the curvey body style. It's not the standard strat style generic look, but unlike most odd body styles, still seems comfortably playable. A guy(Mark Southerland)in Indianapolis a number of years back had a band,"Dent". A hot little three piece(sort of like tool/deftones cool hippie groove metal)and he played all 7 string guitars, including a lime green avenger that looked badass live. I have heard that they are heavy and have thick necks, but I am a very big guy with big hands and have no problem with that. I just wanted to know about the "duncan designed" pups, and the general feel for the instrument from people who have actually owned one, or just played one. Thanks

I own an Avenger 7. It's heavy as hell! You really notice the weight if you play it for a long time. It's heavy than most Les Paul's I've played. The neck is a medium thick profile, not as thin as Ibanez but thinner than ESP/LTD. It's a very comfortable neck to play. As for the Duncan Designed pickups, well they're crap. Muddy and undefined. Swap those out and as longas you can live with the weight it's a good guitar.

I agree. I had two Avenger 7s (A7 Elite), they weigh a ton and don't sound that good. They play fairly well look cool (especially the ultra violet purple one).

They are fairly well-built, unique designed guitars. I don't like them personally, due to the tone, weight and feel. I don't care much for the look of them either, although they have certain curves here and there that I like…

I own one (A7 Elite) and I love it. What's everyone's beef with the tone? I put a real SD pickup in it and it sounds great.
