WTB: Peavey Supreme 160 head

The oldschool blue-stripe version, not the chrome-knobbed later model. I believe they were made around 1994.

I found one at a local Daddy's Junky Music (well, it's in New York, but they're shipping it to Mass) for $199 in supposedly "Excellent" condition. It'll be here a week from Monday, hopefully it's not beat to hell.

I had this head from about 1994-1996 or so, it was the first really nice amp I ever owned. I had a Peavey.. Fuck.. Encore? Bandit? Whichever the 1x12 was before it. Got it with the cab that I have now for something like $1200, and I remember it having shitloads of volume and pretty damn decent tone.

For $200 to revisit my youth, I figure why the hell not. I remember loving it back then, hopefully it'll still sound good today.

In all reality it DOES NOT sound that bad now that I know how to dial in an amp!

I remember playing on those Peaveys in pawn shops and music stores years ago. From what I remember they did sound pretty damn good!

i've got a peavey rage 158 that my dad first got for me.... i thought it was broken for the longest time, i come to figure out... the cable was messed up (and so were the electronics in my strat copy, lol) and it really does get a nice tone know that i know what i'm doing with those knobs!
