Most of the stuff my band does is still with a six string and I have many of those but we do maybe 5-6 songs with the 7 and I really do not need more that 1 seven string guitar.
This washburn is a great 7 string for anyone just getting into 7's - great for a seasoned pro to use (stock) as a backup instrument - even better for the pro that wants to add some better pups and use it as a main (or) backup 7. The stock pups actually sound pretty damned good, they never did squeal (or) feedback on me, and the action and intonation was set up by a guitar tech that I take all of my stuff to.. So with that being said this is an excellent guitar for any player.. it's been set up and professionally played and taken care of.. $120 + $15 for S&H is an excellent price. Yeah' This is a really nice 7 string, I've kept very good care of it, there is NOT one scratch on it, always kept in the case and wiped down after each use, I keep very good care of my guitars, and I hate to let it go but I've recently aquired one of those nice [ Agile 7 strings, metallic red ] and people, I tell ya' - The Agiles are real nice! I got the Agile 7 with the fixed bridge - I do not do much fancy stuff on leads, I am a rhythm player. |

Hang on a second! Your WG-587 looks absolutely nothing like mine. 2 pickups? Tune-o-matic?! Was that the way it came?

Yeah' apparently Washburn makes (2) models of the WG-587. There is another model that came out sporting a FR licensed bridge. The model I had, was real sweet man, the best thing about was, the stability. I could tune it and not have to touch it for a couple of weeks and I really do a lot heavy chugging rhythms, the factory pups are OK at best, I had a pair Dimarzio blaze's in it, of course I removed them before selling and reinstalled the factory pups.
The fret work & finish was pretty nice, no sharp corners or edges, the pots were good, they actually worked! Neck was similar to an Ibanez, but the Washburn neck is just a tad beefier. Yeah' |

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago from Music123.com when they did the 10% off coupon deal. I like the guitar. The neck is a little thicker than Ibanez, but after a good setup it sounded and played very well. Anyone thinking about getting a cheap beater or a startup 7 should jump on it while they're still available.
