angus is a jewel in the rough
FS: Carvin DC747, white white w/ custom/unique wood combo

Hey guys,

I'm selling my Carvin DC747 because I've received the first of my 8 string guitars. I no longer need this since I'm really a bassist and don't have any reasont to have a lot of guitars.

The instrument itself is only a few months old and in brand new condition; it was only gigged once and recorded with a few times. The gig was a jazz gig, so don't worry- there wasn't any spit, alcohol or blood spewed on it!

Specs are:
DC747 (hum/single/hum pickup config with volume/tone knobs and 5 way pickup selector)
- White white finish, which added 2.5 months to the wait time beyond just the extra cost (but it's beautiful). It's a very thin finish, but is really gorgeous. Covers the back of the neck as well.
- Ebony fretboard with mother of pearl blocks
- Mahogany neck
- Ash body
- Black hardware
- Hardtail bridge (imo, a must)
- Graphite nut
- Comes with padded hardcase

The wood combo on the neck/body is not one that they offer normally and had to be specially done for me. It sounds incredible and is very well balanced as well. It's also super stable- I've never had to tweak the truss rod since it arrived.

Forgotten anything? Let me know if I have.

Anyway, the full cost of the instrument was just shy of $1550. I'm looking for $1000 + shipping for what is essentially a brand new, unmarked instrument that would cost 1.5 times this to buy and take 4-6 months to arrive because of the finish. PM me if interested. Thanks!

Pics. Also selling at the going rate for used Carvins would help.

Especially since I'm close enough to pick it up. Strange how that's exactly the wood combo I want to order on mine.

I thought the price would have been more like $600-$700

I could probably do £450 ($925) inc. delivery which is well above the normal rate for carvins used, if you're interested?

Yeah I know about the pics- will get them today. I didn't have the camera or guitar handy when I posted this.

To the poster expecting $600-700- this isn't eBay and it's a brand new $1500-1600 guitar. If you want a $400 RG go to Guitar Center!

Matt7, PM me and we can discuss. There is no way that I could include shipping in that though; I just shipped a bass to Ireland and it was over USD$300. It should be slightly less for the guitar, but I'm not covering that for $925.

LOL

£80 of that being shipping.

£130 being taxes.

Making your offer £240. For a custom shop.

Seriously dude, you need to look into HOW you get a guitar over from the States before you go an do it.

If it was a free market, our economies would go fucking mental.

Putting the 'mental' into 'instrumental'...

WOW! $300?! I've gotten guitars shipped over here for much less than that. More around the $100 mark.

Dan, I've bought a guitar neck and body from the states and didn't get charged tax. Talking about you ONE experience doesn't mean that will happen everytime.

Within the states it's generally around $60 or so. To Ireland there are always taxes for private parties and because of the distance involved it's always judged based on size rather than weight so it's more expensive than within the US.

Unless you know how you had one arrived for $100, I have to ship through UPS or Fedex to get to Ireland and both are around the same price. It should be less than $300 for a guitar because of the difference in height, but I don't know by how much.
