ecalcagnino is a jewel in the rough
FS: Mesa 50/50 - near mint and recently retubed

I am the second owner of this amp. I am only selling because I am putting together a different setup.

- Cosmetics: This could not be cleaner. No rack rash and looks almost new with no exaggeration whatsoever.
- Functionality: Perfect. Sounds great, retubed a few months ago with new Boogie tubes. LOUD is an understatement.

I am sure you know the specs if you're looking but here you go:

- 2-space rack design with cooling fan
- Independent volume and presence controls for each channel
- High/Low power switch that changes the output from 50 watts per side to 15 watts per side (GREAT for keeping your ears from bleeding when practicing)
- On/off switch and standby switch
- Has one 8-ohm and two 4-ohm speaker outputs per channel
- Ground lift switch
- Four NEW Mesa 6L6 power tubes

Pics at http://www.ericsguitars.com/mesa5050

I would Bay it at $500 plus shipping but you guys can have it for $475 including shipping. Thanks and please email if you're interested.

Thanks!

Hmmmm, now, and only because I don't really know the answer but what would a guy need to complete this set up? I'm wondering how this would sound with my Tonelab SE

Well, you can use any number of setups but unless you're a glutton for punishment I would stay away from 4x12s and suggest getting one or two 2x12s. I happen to have a used Mesa 2x12 (as well as being a dealer) and would be WAY pleased to sell them at one time to such a fine fella.

You would be all set with those pieces and if you DID decide at some point to go the 2-2x12 route you would be stereo which I personally love for certain things.

Drop me a line or PM your phone number and we can see if this would be the right stuff for you. I wouldn't want you to get something that wouldn't be exactly what you would need/want. Thanks bro.

You could always use a stereo 4x12 (like 2 - 2x12s in one box). I love my Behringer BG412H, and it was dirt cheap. So that's another cabinet option if you're not uber-picky about wide stereo image. And of course it'll sound much wider when mic-ed through a PA or when recording in stereo. But yeah, 2 - 2x12s would be ideal for a wide stereo sound otherwise.

I was done hauling 4x12s around when I cut off my hair in the 90s. I can't take that shite any more. I love the 4x12 tone but a pair of nice Mesa 2x12s offers me more personally. Feel the love, brotha!

You also still *for now* have a lower back.
