I bought mine new for less than that dude.
Just so you all know:
These guitars listed for 799$ back when they were new. Most dealers sell at 70% of list price, which equates to 559$. These were purchaseable new for that price from Music123, and a few other stores online, and most regular guitar shops (where i bought mine for 559$)

btw, for those of you wondering, its NAKED because i was going to refinish it with another colour, but dont have time and the tone sounds very deep and resonant...
so i left it this way.. it was professionally stripped

"professional" is a bit of a stretch - like I said, there are visible discolorations and burn marks.

Either way, a replaced set of pickups and a case doesn't make a project guitar worth a bit over $100 more than it was worth originally, bro. And, when you get right down to it, the warrantee is voided if the guitar has had labor done by a non-authorized dealer, which it clearly has.

I MIGHT do $300 to use it as the basis for a project guitar (new body, probably a new fretboard, etc) if you're interested, but I'm debating between a guitar project and a new computer, and realistically I need the computer a bit more. "Need" is one of those relative words, however.

Aye while that's still a killer guitar, and one I'd like to own if another 7 was in the budget, imho the price is a bit steep and that warrantee is long gone.

Mine was 472$ 525$ with case

So what we are saying is 650 is a bit steep - especaly for having the finish stripped

On a side note, if you had the finish, er, finished professionally to a nice CST/2027 style woodgrain with a nice clear on it, that'd probably sell a LOT faster.

Well, mine ended up being like about that much after i traded a guitar in. BUT THE POINT STILL STANDS!

My friend who i sold it to sold his on ebay for less that 500$ recently. that was with the finish, AN7/TZ7, Case, Locking studs & THE FINISH.

All price bickering set aside, I want to offer a suggestion here. Honestly speaking, the body needs some kind of protective coating. If I were you, I'd go to Lowe's and pickup some tung oil and give that beaut a few coats. Not only will it look better, it'll ensure the axe withstands the test of time.

agreed, tung oil rocks. That and some 0000 grade steel wool should do wonders for that thing.

that's still basically "new" pricing for a very not-new guitar. if tyhat's how much you need to make it worth selling, then I'd recommend keeping it.

Besides, 7-string fenders are few and far between.

Yeah, HB's right. The 1527, up to 1 year ago was selling for $559, then the new '05 model came out, and sold for $875 (zzounds, music123, ams, etc.). Now, they're not traceable on the 'net. The 1527 should go down in value a little bit because, after all, it's just an RG7620 with worse pickups (stock Ibanez instead of DiMarzio New 7/Blaze) and the new Edge trem. RG7620s sell for $350-$600 on Ebay, currently, and they are better guitars.

The only Ibanez guitars that are really upgrades over the RG7620 (excluding Universes of course cause pickguards are for pansies ) are those beautiful J-Customs.

Wait a second, prodigy, why did you sand down the headstock? Didn't it have an ebony or walnut plate covering the headstock with the "Ibanez Prestige" logo imprinted into it?! Similiar to one like this:
