Your best bet if you really wanna do all that, is to get a 2027X and then take the piezos out of it and put it on the 7620 if that's what you REALLY want to do. But that's ruining an already uncommon guitar to do so. * Regor is expecting to get flamed by Bob for even conceiving this thought. ![]() Metal... Nuff Said!! ![]() I've even thought of doing something similar myself. ![]() See, the Ibanez, as you know Rog, is a terrific guitar. One of the best playing, nicest sounding axes I've ever beheld. But, even with all that, it's still a production guitar. The bridge on the other hand, is a marvel! No production axe would compete with a fully custom guitar, so that leads one to maybe think... ![]() But, that's kinda silly. There are other options for piezo bridges, and even 7-string trems. Hipshot makes a 7-string trem, a bit like a JP model, that uses regular Fender style saddles. Graphtech Ghost saddles would go in there easy. Plus, Graphtech is working on the Floyd Rose saddles, and as much as I enjoy an Ibanez trem, nothing really beats an OFR. So, I guess it's probably a bit wiser just to hold on to a 2027, or even moreso, a 2127, if one aquires them. ![]()

I looked at the Graphtech site last night. I'd forgotten about Hipshot. I prefer the OFR myself, but using the Edge is ok too. So if I have too, I'll get an Edge trem and the piezo's / electronics from LR Baggs and make one. Hopefully somone has a 2127X they are not using and would rather have the 6 string version. |

![]() LR Baggs does NOT sell the Double Edge bridge components separately. Ibanez does not sell the Double Edge bridge separately. Finding a 7-string Double Edge bridge for sale is near impossible. Finding a RG2127 for sale is near impossible. Graphtech MIGHT make Floyd piezo saddles in the future (I've talked with them extensively about this). Until then, there are zero piezo options for Floyd-type trems except the Ibanez Double Edge. ![]() Your best bets are 1) Get an EBMM John Petrucci 7 with piezo and/or get a RG2027, or 2) get a fixed bridge 7 with Fender style saddles, and install the Graphtech system. There's a guy here who did it, and will do it, for a fee. He does terrific work. Dendroaspis is the member. You can PM him for details. |

Dude, if you can get LR Baggs piezo saddles for Ibanez trems, there are people here who would worship you.
![]() I'm betting you can't though. (LR Bagg's deal with Ibanez) See if you can, and update us. If you had those, and the preamps, yep, the work wouldn't be too hard at all for someone who knows what they're doing. |

You could always buy two 6 string trems with piezo's, and transfer the saddles over to a 7 string trem. Then sell off the remaining 5
![]() Actually, the control boards will probably be too different..
