WTS RG7421
I bought this guitar off the bay a few days before I got my Ibanez HRG-4. I was going to use it as a refinish project but I would never play it, the HRG is just too sweet lol =)
I am pretty sure it is a 7421 (the guy I got it from swears it is a 7621) and it has a neck that is stamped 7621, which is pretty normal for these models. It has new Dimarzio Blaze neck and bridge pickups (DP700 and 702) installed which I can remove if a cheaper price is desired. I have a set of stock 7421 pickups that I will include if the Dimarzio’s are removed. Let me state this clearly, this is a project guitar. It has been refinished several times as you can tell in some of the pictures. The guitar plays fine as it is and if you like the blue color you are set =) I am going to list all of the flaws as best as I can. Flaw 1, on the first fret there is a crease/dent in the fret board, I tried to photograph it and I can’t get a good pic of it. It can be felt if there are no strings on the neck but doesn’t affect playability at all. There is a chip on the tip of the lower horn where the paint layers can be seen but it is not down to the wood. There are a few runs in the paint which can be felt by the hand but not seen. There is some “orange peel” inside the upper horn. That is also difficult to photograph but it is there. One of the tuners on the neck moves slightly when there are no strings on it. One of the pots also has some movement to it. I am sure these are easy fixes for a person that has experience fixing or refinishing guitars. The headstock was sanded and painted over to match the body. There is a chrome looking sticker that says,” Ibanez USA Custom”. Don’t let that fool you, it is no custom, just a decal. The decal does not have clear over it so it can be removed and another put on in its place if you so desire. There is also a small sanding mark on the lower part of the headstock. Despite the paint job, the guitars plays fine and the neck profile is typical of the Japanese made 7421/7621’s. If you like the color you can just leave it and play it. If not, refinish it and make your own custom guitar =) The guitar will come shipped in an Ibanez hard shell case. Shipping will be to the 48 states only. Prices are as follows: 7421 plus Dimarzio Blazes plus hard shell case = $350 7421 with stock pickups and hard shell case = $275 (you will not get the Dimarzio’s with this option) Shipping is a flat $35. If it goes over that I will pay for the rest. I will also cover insurance fees on the guitar to protect myself and the potential new owner. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. You can check my feedback at Ebay +82, jemsite +5 and talkbass +3. I would like to get straight cash if possible by USPS money order. I am open for trade offers on the following and can add cash if necessary: Ibanez RG3120 Transparent Lavender, Ibanez PGM301, Ibanez RG1550 prestige. Again, if you have any of these and are interested in a trade + cash, please PM me. Thank you for your time =) Pics to follow in next post =) Ok here are some pictures of Betty the Blue RG7421. Here she is without her g-string(s) on, hanging out in the Jam Room... ![]() A closer look at her side profile shows off her nice new Blazing HOT pickups.. ![]() A close-up of her backside... ![]() Followed by yet another shot of her backside... ![]() And what the hell, one more shot of her backside... ![]() Here is a shot of her long, slender neck... ![]() And a shot of her first few frets, the ones that get touched the most ;p ![]() Here we see a full on frontal view of her rosewood fretboard.. ![]() The top of her upper horn (note the white blur, that is one of the runs) ![]() More to follow in the next post =) One nice shot of her body full on frontal... ![]() A shot of her control cavity, ready to be searched (will change if you opt to not have the Blazes left installed) ![]() The proof of her neck being a 7621... ![]() Proof that blue is not the only color Betty has ever been painted... ![]() And there you have it =) PM me if interested =) Last edited by rg_76; 11-08-2006 at 01:34 AM. Damn, I'm really thinking about buying this. It's just a bit too much for me to justify buying it. Don't take it the wrong way you put work into this guitar, I just don't know if I should.
If I was going to anyway, I would get it without the pickups. Is there any possible way for a price drop of something, maybe I can trade something for it. PM me I guess to see if we can work something out. |

Last Price Drop lol:
$250 + $20 shipping for the 7421 with stock pickups (not wired, you will need to connect them) No case, but I will pack it very well. I will entertain trades for bass gear also, but would really like to have cash for my MTM-1 I am trying to get my hands on. Thanks =) |
