Talking Ibanez RGT320Q

ok,
I am new to these boards so i thought I'd tell you about my pride and joy, my ibanez RGT320Q
This is the top of the line prestige RG model from 2007 (they have since upgraded it with the new edge-zero tremelo,
its retail price was $5000AUD and i paid $3200 brand new, partly because the shop forgot to add GST to the price (HAHAHAHA YOU RETARD)

the basics:
5pc wizard II maple/wenge neck (neck thru-construction)
rosewood fretboard (very dark)
mahogany body
quilt maple top (not sure what grade)
edge pro tremelo
gotoh tuners

came with dimarzio/ibz pickups which i switched for:
AHB-1 Blackouts!
i have also added:
ESP arming adjuster
tremol-no (to block trem when recording rhythms)

The craftsmanship of this axe is absolutely top-notch and flaw free, the neck feels a bit thicker than most wizard II's because of the thick clearcoat, but is smoother than a baby's arse. The frets are impeccable and the rosewood board is dark in appearence and extremely vibrant and organic-feeling. Because of the neck-thru design access to the upper registers is incredible, if it had another 6 or so frets they would still be playable.

The woods are all top notch as you would expect and the tone with these blackouts is absolutely GARGANTUAN!!
It is a very dark and warm sounding instrument with plenty of sustain and an insatiable amount of chunk and low end, its truly is a beast with the looks of an angel. Not the most versatile setup but i dont really want that (would be with a pickup change), this is for skull crunching brutality that makes you want to @&#)(&$*(@&$
Because of the huge low-end and hot pups it doesnt clean up that well but meh....

the only issue i had was a bit of ringing in the trem springs and above the locking nut, mainly because blackouts are so F*****G sensitive and also because of the incredible vibration transfer through the guitar... easily fixed with a bit of foam dampening

all in all I love this guitar more than anything and i hope this post has given you some itching GAS

i actually wanted to buy the ash version but i was about 6 months late, whenever one pops up (very rarely happens) i will snap it up for sure, it has to be one of the most beautiful ibby's out there.
