Arm contour was done using "cove" router bit to establish how deep I was going, then I used the belt sander and sanding block with 80 grit to level it. Ended up being a bit deeper and sharper than expected and it took friggin' forever.
The bending itself was a nightmare and the top cracked in about three pieces, plus the grain pulled up in a couple spots. I steamed it with an iron and used bar clamps, then switched to c-clamps when I needed more torque. The bend was too sharp, too deep, the top was too thick and I tried to bend too fast. However, I sanded everything semi-flush, then ran some of my scrap walnut through the drum sander and used the dust to make wood putty to fill the gaps. I'm very pleased how this ended up, and I'll post some better pics after it's finished.
