Time to put on strings?
Took me 25 minutes today, start to finish, including tuning. Is that skillz, or what!?
So, post your times. Also, state what bridge your using, fixed bridgers and hardtails only take like 5 minutes, so don't make fun of the 25!!!![]() Ibanez Edge 7 |

On my Jackson (Original Floyde Rose) it takes me about 30-40 minutes. I always stuff up at least one string and have to unwind it and start again.

It takes me about 15-20 minutes to change my strings, I try to get it done as fast as possible. I have 3 guitars with the Lo Pro Edge and one with a TRS.

I take my time, usually around 40-1 hour for a floyd. 20 minutes for a hardtail.

and like I told elysian, I'll add that the temperature in my place went from 65 degrees... to 75 degrees over the last set of strings, so I re-adjusted the springs in the back too with those 25 minutes...

15 minutes or so including a polish/neck-oil using the Eric's kit on most of my guitars, since I'm a hardtail guy.
On floyds, about 10 minutes longer. |

![]() I'm fuckin' addicted to the fretboard oil. I do it once a week, and let 'em soak for about 10 minutes. |

Wow. I could change my strings on my Floyds in the old days in about 10 minutes. Of course, I was obsessive about new strings until I discovered Elixirs. Lotsa practice.
![]() Now, I have my Floyds semi-blocked (dive only) and it take me... oh, an hour or so, because since the Elixirs last so long, I clean everything and oil the fretboards. I take my time. I put 36+ since that's how long I typically take. With the trems blocked, I can change those fuckers super quick, and tune, but Like I said, I takes my time. ![]() Interesting thread, as I'm installing my D Sonic 7 tonight, and changing my strings. |
