I'm Excited!!!! But I need a wee bit of help...

First of all, let me just tell you guys (although you probably don't care) why I'm excited. From the myspace:

-At this point, the run-time of the entire album is 64:57. This will likely approach the 70-minute mark because a) songs tend to actually get a tad longer when I actually record them and b) I will have to add some cool sound effects and things between the songs to make them flow into each other more smoothly (this IS a concept album, after all).

-The shortest song is 3:37

-The longest song is a prog-tastic 13:24 minutes long.

-There are two epic songs that are over 10 minutes.

-Average song-length is around 7 minutes

-One of the really heavy songs features techno beats, jazz interludes, and a reggae outro, all of it wrapped in one tidy package.

-------------------------------

There you have it! Next week I am officially switching into 100% recording mode, so hopefully there will be many cool updates here in the next month or so!

I'm REALLY pumped right now. I mean, there's some hard stuff that's gonna be a bitch to properly double-track, but still.

But anyway, I need to burn my MIDIs to a CD so I can listen to them while I work and check over my work, to make sure there are no problems with any of the intrument tracks. Does anyone know a good, free program I can use to do this? I googled for such converters, but they were all demo software with lots of limitations.

I think audacity can do it, but from some reason every time I import a MIDI it doesn't work

Thanks

Good luck dude! Sorry I have no suggestions, as I'm pretty thick about technology...

Nothing like a good depressant to chase the blues away!

AbsentCurtis is on a distinguished road
Depending on the software you are using to record and your sound card, you maybe be able to just record the midi tracks while they are playing. I have done that a few times. I know with the Sound Blaster Live and Audigy you can set it to record "What U Hear", meaning anything that is being played through the computer would be recorded. If you can do it that way, just remember to disable any other soumd that you would not want showing up in the recording (instant messengers, email notifications, etc).

Yeah, I know about that, but I was hoping for an easier/faster way rather than letting the computer run for 70 minutes...
