Lee ever since I first saw the Bark At The Moon video back in 1984, I was 8 and impressed by his playing. I acquired this bootleg video "Bark At The Moon tour 1984" 5 or 6 years ago, what an amazing performance he puts on this video, sadly, youtube doesn't have any of those videos, these are cool, check them out, he's pretty good, what do you think? some videos- http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...&search=Search Jake E. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I neglect talking about him and shred simply because I can't get ahold of any of his solo material. I've heard it all, but don't have it to listen to! He's extremely under-rated. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Jake was a massive influence on me early on, mainly because he was the first Ozzy guitarist I heard. I still spin the Ultimate Sin pretty regularly. There've been all sorts of rumours about where he's been...my favourite was that he was a kept man for a rich widow... ![]() 'If one octave isn't interesting then who the hell cares about the others?!' ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the problem was...as another post here says....OZZY's voice was not all that and it held Jake E.Lee back from music creativity....another NOTE: jake used to have his guitars fretted like no one else...1-12 Gibson style frets spacing and 12-21 Fender spacing making solos and rythem guitars stand out better...I actually have one of Jake E. Lee original guitars....a proto type ESP...(see photo) Check out or try to even find Jakes solo cd.."Fine Pink Mist" awesome tones..... www.jakeelee.com Jake deserves much more respect then anyone gave him...i think Zakk sucks but that's also my opinion.... |

![]() | I never liked Jake's playing. Partially because it's so very, very "rock-oriented," but also because of his tone and style. I dunno, the Ozzy stuff with Jake Lee always sounded overwhelmingly 80s to me, not particularly "true." Though for that matter a lot of Manowar's guitar "riffs" aren't all that "true."
