Marc Rizzo (Metal meets classical/flamenco guitar)

Some of you know Marc Rizzo from his current work with Soulfly & as a founding member of Ill Nino. Well, he's just released a new instrumental guitar album that melds his incredible metal, classical & flamenco guitar playing into one kick ass package.

The album is titled "Colossal Myopia." I got it a few days ago & it's absolutely fantastic! Everyone should check it out!

omentremor is a jewel in the rough
I got into him last year when Collosal came out. FUCKING KILLER. When I started playing guitar I learned flamenco and the shit he does is just mad. I couldn't get into Soulfly until he came in. I think he's made them better than Sepultura were.

Yeah, he's an incredible musician. He did an lesson on one of the most recent Guitar World CD-Roms. I just didn't realize how good he actually was. Because of his affiliation with Soulfly & his former band, Ill Nino, I think he gets overlooked because he plays in so-called "nu-metal" bands. His playing is also VERY impressive on the newest Soulfly CD, Dark Ages. It's highly recommended.

Finally Soulfly got a player to get Max back on track. The last guitar player in Soulfly, Mikey Doling or something, sucked donkey balls.

I have been thinking of getting the Dark Ages cd. I only have the first Soulfly cd because the ones after that were too nu-metallish for my taste. Jump da f**k up, give me a brake...

I was a huge Sepultura fan, and Soulfly was very dissappointing because of it's two note riffs and MTV (yo yo homiez!) attitude, and on the other hand, Sepultura without Max wasn't/isn't working either. At least we have albums like Chaos AD ( my all time fav. album ) Arise, Beneath the Remains.. Killer albums.

But now that Rizzo brought the technicality to Soulfly, I am actually eagerly awaiting for the new Soulfly album. (AND THE SEPULTURA REUNION!!!)
Max still needs to work on his lyrics though... "Back the fuck up..." Those lyrics don't really do it for me..

Mark's solo stuff sounds great too. A bit of an Atheist vibe on some parts. I like it And he really is a killer player.
