Vh1 Metal Month
I know this was in some other thread but search wasn't picking up on it.
Just thought I'd remind you guys since it is now May. Yesterday they showed the 40 most metal songs of all time. |

Yeah so far there have been some pretty cool metal-based shows on. I really wanna check out that "Super Group" show that debuts on May 21st. Sebastian Bach, Scott Ian, Ted Nugent, Evan Seinfeld & Jason Bonham! Should be great!

Deicide in a Top 40 metal songs of all time poll? Riiiiiiight. No offense, but I can think of TONS of metal bands who's contributions to metal were way more significant than anything Deicide has done.
You have some diehard Deicide fans out there, but most people know of the band because of Glen Benton branding an upside cross in his forehead. Not exactly a legacy. ![]() |

That is, however, pretty hardcore.

Dude, Deicide was one of the core bands of the florida death metal scene(you cant deny the greatness of the Legion album, btw), which had one of the biggest impacts on extreme music in general. Not one florida death metal band was listed, Nor were any bay area bands.. No Swedish bands. it was a cross between classic metal (sabbath/priest/etc), Hair bands, and nu metal, for the most part.. The heaviest bands they had were Sepultura, Slayer & Anthrax
Also, i would never expect deicide to be on the list anyway. it was more tongue in cheek. But still the point remains. You know, but the songs from band they did have listed, i was like "Wow, X band has SUCH better songs". like they mentioned Bring tha Noise From Anthrax, and i was like "I Am the Law? Caught In A mosh? Time?" I mean the rap songs anthrax did were funny and whatnot, but no where NEAR their best songs. |

Easy, kitten. I know where you are coming from. Unfortunately though, this "All time" list is more catered to the average music fan, not the diehard metal fan. It's TV afterall....ratings, ratings, ratings. i can't take VH1's outlook on metal too seriously. If anything, it is entertaining though.
