Tom Morello is in a league of his own here.

And there's too many great noises to mention.

Steve Vai' cat effects on Whitesnake's Kitten's got Claws.
Eric Johnson's Koto Effect
Matt Bellamy's Kaoss Pad stuff
Michael Schencker's cross string 'Gamelan' effect
Paul Gilbert's custom Flange
Paul Gilbert's Delay intro on 'Get Out of my Yard'
Anything by Justin Chancellor and Adam Jones
Adrian Belew's Seagulls on Mate Kudesai
Michael Lee Firkin's pseudo slide effect with the Whammy Bar
Steve Morse's Choir effect with the tone knob
John 5's 'Behind the Nut Love' (literally)

...actually, whenever Satch or Vai touches the Whammy Bar, Wah or Whammy Pedal or all of the above. (Kill the Guy with the Ball, Bad Horsie)

Holy fuck yes. One of my favourite guitar tones everrrr.

Also, the "chink" slapped bits in Summer Rain by SikTh. First time I heard that I couldn't for the life of me work out what was happening to get that noise, haha.

Most things John Martyn ever did, but specifically I remember being one step away from an absolute quivering wreck after seeing this video for the first time:

RIP, .

But yeah, loads more I can't think of right now. Oh, other than Mattias Eklundh's awesomeness.

I also forgot Tommy Emmanuel's shaker effect when he scratches the dent marks on his beat up acoustic.

Another cool one I thought of is another Meshuggah moment. In the original release of nothing the guitars on Closed Eye Visuals especially have this very metallic clinking sort of sound to them. Not sure if I prefer this or the purer sound of the re-release.

Pretty much anything that comes out of Omar Rodrgiuez-Lopez's cab. Unaparalleled vulgar abuse of pedals and his ability to go off onto effect-laden tangents that -still- work and fit completely leave me baffled. Add the fact that his amp constantly sounds like its breaking up gives the playing a lot of depth and emotion imo.

It has a very desperate, but honest feel.

I always loved the solos from Janick Gers on Iron Maiden. He's got a very different style than anyone else out there.

That one immediately came to mind for me. Another Satch favorite is the intro to his solo on Jordan Rudess's "Screaming Head." I have no idea what he's doing but it sounds like a bar dive + a table saw... underwater.

Also, all the neat noises Adam Jones has made in the passage of time.

Ahhhh! I CRINGE in fear every time you do that neck bend thing. How does that work without fucking everything up? If your guitars are bolt on, you're stressing the bolt joint, and if they're set neck isn't that stressing the glues?

Its not about bolt on or not bolt on...

The neck joint does not get stressed at all if the neck joint is perfect...

This also prooves the quality of a neck joint... Most guitars would play out of tune instantly

There is a certain way of doing it and if you dont know it, better dont try

And never try this on a Gibson style guitar, you may brake the headstock

Doing this on an headstock with an angle (which has the truss rod adjustement at the head) is a risk, this must only be done on straight fender style necks preferably with the truss rod adjustement at the end of the neck...

I know Michael Schenker used bend his neck a lot. And that was on a Flying V. I think Jake E Lee used to do the same (with the addition of detuning and retuning back to pitch).

There's some really extreme neck-bending in here. Honestly, it's a miracle he didn't go through a guitar every show doing stuff like this!

That's awesome! I do neck bends on my Steiny (which is tough because it's carbon reinforced ) and it always cracks my other guitar player up. Just curious, Master Huf, what effects/settings are you using there. I love that tone!
