you's cant seriously think jon davis is a bad singer?! he's awsome. i saw them the other night, and he was near perfect. there were times he ran outta breath, but they played for 2 hours straight so i came to expect that lol. but he hits and holds some incredibly high stuff. i still think corey taylor is the best singer though

It's cool that you think so. I never liked corey taylor much, but he is very successful, and jonathan davis is definately unique. They're both better than I am, that's for sure!

You should try listening to some progressive rock/metal. Neither Corey or Jon hold a candle to most of the singers from that genre.

+1.. Except James LaBrie.

As far as aggression, neither corey taylor nor jon davis have anything on David Vincent on the first 4 Morbid Angel CDs. Or Steve Souza on Exodus' Tempo of the Damned

Yeah, that dude can't sing worth shit... unfortunately. One of the first times I heard his singing was when DT covered "Master Of Puppets" (the album). Every single band member nailed their parts perfectly, except LaBrie who couldn't hack it at all. At that time, I seriously hoped he was just having a very very very bad day and that his vocals were normally better than that. Unfortunately I found out later that he normally sounds like that...

I can see Corey Taylor having Korbain's favorite voice, but not being the most skilled singer in rock. I could name at least 50 rock singers who are much much more skilled (I may even prefer Corey Taylor to a lot of them, but they clearly have more skill).

I saw a few live Korn videos a while back where Jonathan Davis' vocals were very good (pretty much the same as on the album, even better on some songs). On these acoustic songs he just screamed full-on as if they were playing the regular songs, despite the fact that it was all acoustic. But, even so, his singing wasn't that bad. It just wasn't very good, either.

David Vincent = ROCK -> More stage presence than most frontmen wish they had.

Anyway, the korn stuff is just a bit boring, nice use of piano, gives it a weird wild west gone wrong vibe. Still the guitars could have been way more intersting to be honest.

the thing is, i don't listen to most of the stuff you guys listen too i am into weird, catchy, hard music i guess. i like metal don't get me wrong, but not yucky screaming metal. i like metal music, with good singing i guess lol. sure if you's named a few bands like that i'd give it a go for shiz. if i were to say my style of music, it'd be metal/industrial/experimetal...thats why i am into bands like tool, korn, slipknot, stonesour, soulfly, pantera, etc. aslong as the music is from the heart, i'll repsect it. but thats me, we all like different stuff, thats the magic of music, but its bad for me cause i dunno half the bands and muso's you talk about cept the familar ones haha

Yeah, James is craptacular.

Sahaj from Ra has a way better voice than Corey or Jon, and that's not prog. Too bad they don't get more attention.

Geoff Tate, Daniel Gildenlow, Howard Jones from KSE, all imo a lot more talented.
