Evanescence's live version of Thoughtless is better.

And Amy Lee is far better looking than Jon.

i'll share my thoughts, even thought i started the thread for others to discuss lol. well, for starters, considering they went in 2 hours before hand and just basically put together how they were gonna do it, you gotta give em the credit that it sounded pretty impressive considering the lack of preperation. It was unique sounding, it had the same korn vibe, but, to me it sounded more dark and emotional. thats just what acoustic does though i guess lol. i loved the percussion, piano etc. they made that work so well. Last but not least, i'll give them the credit for having the guts to even try play their music acoustic, i have alot of respect for korns willingness to experiment. I dunno if any1 listened to the interviews with them, but they seem passionate about the music they're making, i dunno why they cop so much shit, they aint were they are for no reason.

Goddamn, I thought this whole torturing the world with crappy acoustic versions of our electric songs ended in the 90s. Didn't Congress pass a law against it or something?

What's up with the dude in the bunny hat?

.2c: While I don't mind Korn, Davis should have sang a toned-down version of the vocals instead of just doing the same lines that he does on the heavy tracks. The music itself was tight, but he ruined it by not attempting to clean-down his own track as well.

I actually kinda liked it, and thought that Munky's use of effects on an acoustic was very cool. Jon's vocals were still a lot better than the majority of crap out there, especially considering he had to adapt them to different versions of the songs.

But I still stand by my opinion about Ev's version of Thoughtless being better

I didn't see him adapting at all, I just heard him not singing quite so loud.

I couldn't get too into it though, I think it was terrible. :\

Yeah, the music was boring but it was played right and tonally sounded alright, but Jon just totally has no idea how to perform acoustically.

can't sing live = can't sing

if you need production to make you sound good, then obviously you need to work on your craft

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

Agreed 100%, but in JD's defense, on the Live at the Hammerstein DVD, his live vocals are actually damn good. And it sounds like they pretty much just stuck some 'verb on 'em. I was impressed, and it sounded 10x what this acoustic set did.

For me, I'm sorta with Chris, although Jon's vox didn't bother me probabably as much (although that's no ringing endorsement, mind you), and I generally liekd the music. But... they basically played their same electric stuff, only on acoustics. I would have preferred to see a slight rearrangement of their material, that was more designed for an acoustic setting. But, with only 2 hours to prepare, hey, ya get what ya get I guess.
