Korn - "Eaten Up Inside"

Ok, so today I decided that I would try and listen to some newer Korn stuff (again) and see if my mind has changed about them.

I was a big fan when they came out with the self-titled and Life is Peachy, but pretty much after that I felt that their aggression dissappeared and they just sounded like a sonic wall of effects. David Silveria used to be an awesome drummer, but around this same time, he kind of took a backseat position.

But, I happened to find this song "Eaten Up Inside". WOW! I have to say, this is the first Korn song that I have actually LIKED since Life is Peachy.

You guys should check it out if you haven't already.

Peoples opinions on KoRn albulms seem to be extremely mixed. Personally I loved self titled, hated most of Life is Peachy, found Follow the Leader unlistenable because I would skip every other song, Untouchables is my favorite, Issues is third, Take in the Look in the Mirror was a very good albulm.

I really the industrial style of the new one. And I like how Munky's tone reminds me of Helmets tone.

I love korn, always been a hardcore fan, untouchables is my favorite altough i agree with the whole 'wall of effects' thing instead of playing real riffs, and i think the new cd is ok but not for korn-- they are capable of so much more, its more like rap metal, they should have split after head left.

Yep. 'Follow the Leader' (my least favorite Korn CD, mostly because of fucking Fred Durst - I actually like the Limp Bizkit stuff more than I do hearing his dumb-ass voice on a Korn CD) is sorta rap-ish/metal-ish, even though there are some good songs on it (Dead Bodies Everywhere, BBK, Freak On A Leash, Got the Life). I don't really enjoy listening to the rap stuff on there, though, like 'Children of the Korn'. A fad that came, and thankfully, went. The newer stuff though, eh... sounds more techno or whatever. Meh.

Huge Korn fan, BTW.

Pre-chorus is cool and there's a modulation into the chorus, which I've never heard them do before. Favorite Korn was that song in queen of the damned (and the appearance of the universe).

jonathan davis composed like 5 of the songs on queen of the damned and performed all off them in the movie i think. singing wise. i think head n munky did some guitar parts too. but on the album manson, orgy, chester, disturbed, and some other bands singer perform on the album instead of davis. but anyways! eaten up inside if a fucking bad ass song. i love it. silveria does some cool drumming on it too. i love all of korns stuff. Follow the leader is probably my least favourite...but it does have some brilliant songs on it, its on, BBK, my gift to you, justin, pretty, etc. what i respect about korn is, they're not scared to experiment which is cool, some people will hate it, some people will like it, but they don't care. which i am down with

I've always considered Korn "groove" metal rather than rap or nu metal.
