Yeah what's up with that? On the first album the guy was absolutely amazing. But each album thereafter it seemed like his drumming got progessively simpler/more loop like.

they were probably aiming to make non-stop hits. its funny how the most popular songs are the ones with little or no talent/effort required to write

i know that on life is peachy david did no more than 3 takes on any track, some of them only one time. yet, those are far supirior and way more memorable parts than any of the newer ones.

as for this song, i like the intro, and i like it when they bust into the one heavy riff of the song, but they aim away from that. theres not much drive i feel in them anymore. they've made their name, they're just trying to keep their heads above water. what a sad business....

"are there gonna be snacks? i heard there were gonna be snacks."

Davids drumming on "Kill you" in the chorus was fucking bad as fuck.

The song is cool. All the "extra" songs the didn't put on the album, are a lot heavier then the ones that are on the album. And I agree, even though I have always loved them, their drive is just kinda' gone.

Well maybe not completly rap metal but the beat to coming undone is defintly a hip-hop beat, and it seems like there is no more heavy riffs at all.

I'd say industrial is far more dominant than hip-hop is on this albulm.

Besides I never had a problem with hip hop beats (though they get repetive) my beaf was always with the lyrics.

i don't think they were trying to make non stop hits. Korns music has always just been catchy. Munky and head were just able to make catchy guitar riffs all the time, because they sounded unique and just had that cool sound that made it stick in your head. Jonathan Davis has that sorta pop influence in his singing so his vocals are always catchy. If you look into, say the guitar work in korn, the riffs aren't really complicated, but the thought thats went into the effects used, and how to make it blend in with the song is pretty crazy. Munky and head are good guitarists, i have seen them do some pretty crazy shit, but i think the guitar work munk and head (did) do for korn was just right to make it work well. They didn't have to go all crazy punching out riffs and solo's, they just needed to all work together to get one big sound. They ain't were they are now for no reason. I agree there isn't that anger filled drive they used to have, but they're just really enjoying the music, is that bad?

I like the song (system? or something) that has the lyric, "But why won't you die?" Yeah, that's good stuff. What a great vocal line. The whole movie kicks ass.

as a long time korn fan, i'll tell you this... as far as convicing everyone that head and munky can do "crazy shit" on guitar, this is an uphill battle... and a long one at that. but one thing i do agree with is they did what they did wel, they serviced the song. their skills are more focused in composition and abstract creativity that was fueled by the ying/yag relationship the two guitarists.
