I've heard that, pretty nice playing in it. Impressive for that age, his tone can get harsh though.

RIP MIKE

7stringninja will become famous soon enough
At first I almost had to throw my headphones off because the tone was so harsh on my ears. I couldn't even really pay attention to the music itself.

But after a second or two I got used to it. I'm sure it was in part by the recording.

The legato work is outstanding (especially considering the age). His vibrato is also very well developed.

Vibrato and legato are two important playing techniques that alot of people (newbies) fail to see the importance in. They might have good legato technique or a decent vibrato, while focusing on chops and speed. But they all eventually realize that those 2 factors can determine a GREAT player from one that is forgotten.

A 16yo kid back in the late 80s didn't exactly have access to a nice studio filled with professional equipment. Everyone got that sound on their 4 track Fostex back in the day, because any amount of bass response would give you the muffled farting noise.

Damn. He pretty much packs my lunch at one of half my age. Some things just don't change with time, either.

...or the sweep patterns at the end thawt moves chromatically, and then he bends that note to resolve it at the end... Sweet.

And I like his tone, it just screams "I'm 16, in my room, jamming for the sheer mad joy of jamming....". I miss those days.
