I find that hard to believe. I thought the lyrics on the St. Anger album were very pathetic and slopped together mindlessly (unlike early Metallica albums, which I thought had great lyrics like "For Whom The Bell Tolls", "Battery", "master Of Puppets", "Blackened", etc.). Although St. Anger's lyrics were mindless, I have always thought that all the lyrics on "Black Sails In The Sunset" (including "Midnight Sun" which I quoted) were ingenious and very powerful.

I don't see how you can compare any of these lyrics to "Saint Anger"... Geez... Besides, the music itself is just amazing, which is why AFI has been one of my favorite bands since 1996 when I first heard them.

Vince, that first (still nameless) song you posted... Man, that song is why I consider Kevin Moore a genius. I mean, the guitar part in the intro... Eh, not bad, but hardly remarkable. But, add in Kevin's wailing, sliding, nearly atonal keyboard lick over the top... God damn it's brilliant.

Seriously, no one should be allowed to buy a seven string guitar without a copy of "Awake." Such a phenominal album.
