Cradle Of Filth
Jesus did these guys rock! Hard to believe it, looking at the band these days, but christ they really did rock.
Back many moons ago, Dusk And Her Embrace was the very album that got me into extreme metal, I kinda forgot about them over the past couple of years, but while I was in Japan, they were playing some classic CoF in a club in Osaka, which just reminded me of how awesome they once were. I dug out the old CDs today, and gave them a listen again. ![]() |

I like "Dusk". I like parts of the followup, although it has terrible drum production. After that, well, I kinda lost interest. Then again, I've been into "extreme metal" since Sepultura was "extreme", so maybe I'm jaded.

I personally think Cruelty and the Beast and Midian are their finest works. I love most of their albums, one of my all-time fav bands.

These guys were my fav band until Nick Barker left, (imo) they lost a level of artistry with his departure.

I don't have much of the earliest stuff, but the first Cradle I heard was Vempire. As well as that I own Lovecraft & Whitchhearts, Midian and Nymphetamine. Nymphetamine is my favourite album, but Vempire is a close second.
Call me a heretic if you will, but I prefer to listen to their version of Hallowed Be Thy Name to the Maiden version. * metalfiend666 ducks for cover from the flame-fest this statement will probably bring. |

I'd rather listen to their version, as well.
Amazing band, really love these guys. Also, I don't care what anyone says, DAAD and Nymphetamine are good albums, even if they aren't "tr00 kvlt cradle." |

i downloaded the video for Nymphetamine. i thought it was pretty cool, so i tried downloading some more CoF stuff. however, that video is about the only thing i found that i can really stand. that song rocks pretty hard, but a lot of the other stuff just isn't for me.
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

Any enjoyment I might get out of listening to them goes away immediately when I think of what a total toolbox Dani Filth is.
