unsurprisingly, I haven't listened to any cradle for close to a year. Still, the stuff of dusk, V Empire (it's actually 5th Empire, not vempire, some shit trivia for you) Cruelty, cradle to eslave and a few of Midian I really like. And it's fun to play and i can't deny it taught me a lot to do with harmonies and shite like that. But i just can't listen to it as I've heard my favorites far too many times. Sometimes even played in tune. and sober. possibly. but i can't confirm that. That and some of it just reminds me of other bollocks.

it's actually a shame cruelty has such bad production, as some of the riffs and songs on that album are just sheer fun to play, and are catchy as fuck.

Yeah, must be very strange for you to listen to them. You've probably mentioned it somewhere before, but are you in a band these days?

I was browsing Youtube last night and decided to check out some Cradle of Filth videos and I decided two things:

-Dani Filth is ridiculous. He just seems really full of himself and it's hard to tell if he's taking himself seriously or if it's all a big joke to him. And I know way too many people who are full-out obsessed with him, and it's kinda sad.

-Standing next to Dani Filth makes you look about 1000x more metal by comparison I totally understand your hair-caught-in-tuners reverse headstock thing now

But I'm sure you'll be about 15-bajillion times more metal in your own future projects

I'm going to stand alone here and say that I love Dani Filth as a frontman and a singer. I've heard all the horror stories about his Nazi ways and attitude, but personally I love his song-writing, lyrics, humour, demeanor and everything. I don't take him too seriously.

I'm sure he may be a prick if you know him or have worked for him like James has, but I'm fortunate to able to not care about any of that, and his work has brought me so much joy over the years, and I choose to focus on that only. I think it sucks so many cool members have come and gone, but frankly I always end up loving each Cradle album that surfaces anyways, so I end up dealing with it.

He was a prick, and I've only met him for 5 minutes. Complete self-important twat altogether. I was hanging around with the band half the day, and they were some of the nicest guys out, we were talking away for ages, but Dani barely said two words, to any of us, the band included. He kinda signed some autographs for fans, all the while trying to avoid eye contact, just acting a diva really.

In fairness though, his vocals have always been the worst aspect of CoF. Though I do agree, he's written some damned fine lyrics, so I'll give him respect for that.

I'm not surprised by any of that really, but still I really don't think that would ever affect my love for the band. I don't think Dani is by any means a weak link. The music is amazing on its own, but I think his theatrics add a lot to it, an instrument of itself.

No, why would you let anyone else's opinion effect what you enjoy? If there's an aspect of the band that you love, then cool.

I dunno, I've seen a lot of people who have great theatrics on stage, but Dani always seems really fake to me. And I know a lot of 14-year-old girls who can do a way better job and already have the look perfect
