Maximum Security is the greatest neo-classical album of all. Period.

The "Tears of Sahara" solos are interesting because of the contrast between Lynch's more aggressive, trebly solos and MacAlpine's smoother, more refined ones. They both rock. I really can't say enough about that album--there's not a single bad or boring moment on it, and that's a rarity for neo-classical albums, IMHO.

I'm still playing the LP version of that one--I need to grab the CD at some point, though I wish Squawk/Polygram/Whoever the hell now owns Polygram would get around to doing a remaster.
