Got Vince Lupone (desertdweller)'s new cd - rockin!

Just got this CD the other day. I've only had a chance to listen to the whole of it, but so far, I have one word to describe it - powerful!

Great licks, catchy melodies, and incredible rhythm. I'll post a full review after I listen a few more times, but I can already tell that this one is going to be spending a lot of time in the CD player.

What songs in particular were you looking for? Did you want rhythm parts tabbed out or leads? Both?

One more thing... my track "Trail of Light" is #8 in rock on Soundclick right now after 212 downloads yesterday. That's pretty damn good for an instrumental. I need some of you guys to help me whore the song and get it into the top 5 today

im pretty sure i got down the opening riff to spirits rise (i just cound't get it out of my head) can't wait till i can order it. vince, u don't have to talk to me after you get famous, just PLEASE dont put a ginormous VL7 inlay on your guitar.

maybe just the leads. it would probably take too much time to post all the rhythms and stuff. ...and those i think i can figure out. i don't want my ears to get THAT lazy!

maybe if i have some spare time later, i can see if i can powertab out some of the rhythms. of course, i'm gonna have to figure them out first

as far as particular songs, maybe Haven From Silence? ...hmm... perhaps a part that is a good example of such-and-such technique?

Wildealien, I'm about halfway through tabbing out a song on PowerTab for the first time. It's a good program, but it's not always intuitive. I'll post the tab for "Nothing True" in a few days, and then in a few more days I'll get Haven from Silence up as well.

I have no idea how I'm gonna tab out the guitar solos

what I play live and what I played on the album are similiar, but there are slight differences. The melodic parts will definitely be the same, but some of the extremely fast passages may have some inconsistencies. We'll see

yeah, i read PowerTabs for quite some time before it clicked in me how to edit them.

i probably couldn't play a full speed solo anyhow

. but having anything similar to what is played would give some insight, and would rule

Desertdweller (vince) i must admit i have downloaded a few of your songs sounds good man

! Good drum tones. what are you useing? I would try Guitar9.com I use them for distro..what do you need a label for now a days you can do everything yourself. Your website looks cool too...shame about your hair man!!! sell Pop ups on your site they pay quit well and most of them never make it to people screens anyway!! hehe!!! sounds good.

Hey Jerich. I actually am on Guitar 9. Thanks for the kind words. As for the drums, I use a basic Boss/Roland drum machine for laying down simple patterns, and I have my own drum samples that I've made over the years from various studio work. I couple that with some samples I was given from a local studio here in Phoenix and I twist them and contort them to make them really sound like how I want them to sound.

the hair

Yeah, my fiance is a hairdresser and she's always trying to be creative with my hair. She loved it when it was long and keeps trying to get me to grow it back out. At first she wanted me to look like the singer from POD, so we kinda went for that look a couple years ago. Now she wants me to grow out my hair and she wants to straighten it and do my hair like the singer from The Tea Party. I actually really dig that look. For now, it's the standard haircut and sideburns, and I'm gonna wear sunglasses on stage.

As for why I'm looking for label support... I need promotion. I am an average Joe. I work an average job and I go to college. I don't have the finances or connections to promote my album effectively right now, nor do I have the contacts necessary to tour. That is what I'm hoping to get out of a label. In turn, they don't have to "produce" anything, as I'm quite capable of completing my albums in my own studio.

In time though, I would like to add a singer. I have a huge repertoire from my Cast of Shadows and Obscure days, loaded with some songs I'm really proud of, and I'm constantly writing new stuff. Eventually, I'm going to have to hire a singer
