Vai's "Building the Church" intro

Do any of you know how to play the intro to Burning the church? It appears to be easy,,,but I'm missing something.

The rest of the song is pretty straight forward.

Thanks,
~A

that is the funniest mess up on a name ever... that's the complete opposite dude.

Anyway, I tried to learn it for a week, and got it up to about 1/2 speed, patted myself on the back, and then quit. I should try again. It's weird because it isn't a constant tap sequence, it varies and changes.

heres the GP for it:

if you think it's easy, and can play that... fuck... I'll quit guitar.

Lol. "Well we built the foundation and the frame, we can just throw a tarp over it and it should hold us for the next few years."

Not to say that I can play the intro however. So don't take this the wrong way.

He means you only learned it half speed and patted yourself on the back and went to something else. If you were building an actual church, then his analogy is basically the progress you would have made.

I thought it was pretty funny

POOF!

well then, if you feel you can play it at full speed, then please go ahead and do. I have "project" songs, that I work on, and I just felt that it was too hard for me at that moment.
