Funny, yet embaracing admitals to music

So, you know that band, that you listen to... planning a time to listen... for when all the people around in your surrounding apartments aren't home and won't hear you blasting it, and singing along... yeah, so what's yours?

Mine:
-Rhapsody (I SHOULD BE SHOT)
-Mandy Moore (oh yes, metal)
-any version of the Electric slide
-does Elton John qualify?
-tons and tons of Europe
-pretty much any powermetal, hahaha, the cornier the better!
-Alicia Keys, yet I listen to her around people, she just owns

That's about all for me... that I can think of at the moment.

"Funny, yet embracing"?

I don't think these are embarassing, but these are some groups I like that some people are like "whaaat?" I like Third Eye Blind. I have all their albums and have liked their music since I was 14. I like Love Psychedelico, Utada Hikaru (this surprises a lot of people), Esthero, and Dragon Ash. Some people think it's embarassing that I like some bands like Taking Back Sunday, Saves The Day, The Ataris, Funeral For A Friend, Hopesfall, Less Than Jake, Mustard Plug, Underoath, etc. In some people's company, it can be embarassing to admit I like Yngwie Malmsteen. In other people's company, it can be embarassing to admit I like early Korn, Limp Bizkit's first album, some Linkin Park, Slip Knot, Papa Roach, etc. Some people laugh when I tell them I really like X Japan.

I really don't feel so embarassed about a lot of these. The only music that I feel really embarassed about admitting to like is pop music. Especially since I come from a really punk/underground music background.

Third Eye Blind, hell yeah. I don't feel bad about that. I do feel weird about saying I like cold play, because I think everyone's seen the 40 year old virgin.

"You wanna know how I know your gay?"
"How?"
"You like Cold Play."

I guess anything I listen to. Depends to whom I am talking. Truth be told, I listen to a lot of styles.

I used to be a huge fan of "The Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet." Currently, I'm really digging this Russian dance song "Mayiya Hee" or something. Oh and Pig Destroyer, I'm ashamed that I like them.

Meh I play in a Technical Death Metal band so my main music is metal, but I also write melodic stuff and listen to Elton John etc.

Fleetwood Mac are one of my favorite bands, tbqh.

*shrug* i have no shame
Limp Bizkit is one of my favorite bands. Has been for like 4 years. And i love Christina Aguilera's voice. And i still enjoy listening to Korn, Disturbed, Blink 182, Linkin Park, P.O.D., and other such bands once in a while, despite how condescending some of my musician friends can be.

And i fuckin LOVE Rhapsody's Power of the Dragonflame. *shrug*
And who doesn't get sentimental at hearing Billy Joel's "Piano Man" every once in a while? :-P

and i forgot:
of course i also have no friends who share my love of Dream Theater. "They sound too 80's"
i dunno. i guess i've never heard enough 80's music.. cuz in my mind there's absolutely no association between Dream Theater's sound and any other bands i'm familiar with cept the influences they have from older prog rock groups.
well. cept their first album from 89... but that doesn't count. that was before they had James LaBrie.
