What do you think of this sound?

Playing around with some new recording techniques (with my new Jem!)

Setup is:
Jem -> BOSS SD-1 -> Mesa F-30 -> cheezy computer mic

Please excuse the horrible playing - first take on everything, plus I'm a horrible player :p

I guess the rhythm track sounds OK, but the lead is missing.....I dunno, something. It actually sounds a lil better on the recording than it does in person.

Sorry, no 7-string, she's still in pieces waiting for pickups and a coat of polyurethane.

The rhythm is a little dry for my tastes (could be the amp, could be the pedal, I don't know, I had an SD-1 but it didn't get much use once I got used to the amount of gain on my second amp), and I think I know what your saying about the lead, but can't place it either.

Are you using the neck pickup, cos that could be what I'm hearing that I don't agree with. Also for the rhythm, try doubletracking it or doubling the amount of tracks your using at the moment.

I dunno though, if your happy with it go for it, thats just what I would change.

I agree, the rhythm is very dry sounding.

It's with the bridge pickup, double tracked.

This kinda thing is why I'm looking at buying a Nomad :p
