That's the music industry for you. In ten years, it will be nothing but a popularity contest, since Metallica is basicly the last of the larger than life, long lasting bands.

To me, the very idea of a RRHOF is assinine, but I'm just an old grouch...

Like I said, it is just a popularity contest. There are bands that were a huge influence on the musicians who make the music (i.e. King's X), but will never make the RRHoF because they don't have the sales numbers.

Yeah, they didn't bother showing up to the induction, same goes for the Sex Pistols. Both got snubbed too many times to care now.
