Music journalists have nothing to contribute except negativity most of the time and that list proves it.

Personally I'd call most modern pop self indulgent due to it's overproduction and auto tuning etc, imo Mariah Carey or Beyonce's endless high pitched wailing is far more self indulgent than any prog band could ever be.

He's just parroting the usual bullshit mudslinging that people (myopic critics) have historically thrown at progressive/conceptual artists. I'll bet he likes 'Biodome' over 'Shindler's List' too because the later is devoid of humor and attempts to be be deep and meaningful (a.k.a. self-indulgent) in its content.

Whatever... I'd try and hell him, but I'm not sure he would hear me back there in 1996.
