New song i'm working on

here's a new song for my band i'm currently working on. the singer is still working out all his lyrics, so lengths o verse, chorus, etc.. will be changing, and bad midi drums and no bass at all, but here's a rough framework of it.

Recorded with my Dean MLX-7 threw a PodXT Live

any input is apprecitated

sounds pretty good...

I find that kind of mid-tempo area where you are at can get pretty boring if things repeat too much, but it sounds like you've got a bunch of cool riffs to work with. So I would say just make sure your guitar progressions make sense and are relevant to the song as a finished product when the vocalist and whoever else is still working on it are done.

Sometimes I write stuff I think is killer by itself, and then the other guys add stuff in, and I end up changing what I'm doing to further the song even more.

put in a ripping 16 minute guitar solo! That's what I do, but I just cut the rest of the song out.

I'd really have to see with this song, the finished product, because just as 7 slinger said, it's very same paced, same beat, constant repetitiveness. If it's a slow and creepy song with slow and creepy vocals... then it might just work. So, I'm not really one to judge so far.

Good mix for what you recorded it with man.

thanks guys. it's definately not gonna get any longer/ more repetitive. it's the first time i've written anything near that tempo/feel, but i feel like it has a nice groove to it. with the vocals, we were all thinking the same, slow cool vocals.

i thought about a 20 minute solo actually, but a) i dont solo and b) i really shouldnt solo

thanks

podxt live direct for guitar, double-tracked (one hard left and one hard right)
for the drums, it's a midi output from guitar pro, then a bit of compression and eq'in, plus a touch of reverb. all mixed in guitar tracks pro
