Without spawning the music-sharing debate, I don't advocate, endorse or approve of music sharing of any kind. There are artists on here with CDs out whose living depends on people buying their discs. I got my hands on an advanced copy of it, and obviously anyone wanting to track it down can do so through whatever means you usually use to get music online, but I really don't want it discussed here. Been listening to the leak this morning. The songwriting and production remind me of "Promised Land", but it is a step in the right direction for the band.

Still, OM1 slays it in every way.

Truth. The Hands has so much potential, but what the hell is up with the OOoooooooo-ooooh stuff? It's a very cool tune if you snip out like 12 measures of lameness.

Rockenfeld is brilliant as always though. He's so damn tasteful. I like this guitarist - he's not quite Degarmo, but the return of the QR harmony solos is nice, he's keeping right up with Wilton.

Yeah, it'll get a full 'couple hour' listen later tonight. Had to swap it out for some other things this morning.

After a TON of listens, I'm giving it a seven. It has definite moments that are fuckloads better than anything on the last 2-3 QR albums, but unfortunately does lean towards Tate Solo/Later QR stuff.

It's very, very good though, and I'm not disappointed. It's better than I expected by a long shot.

so it doesn't suck? whew..... making a sequel album isn't a good idea IMO because it'll be directly compared to the first. and when i heard they were making mindcrime II i though "oh great... how bad is this gonna be?" but i'm relieved it's being taken better than the albums of the last few years.
