Re-painting my Jackson V

If it were a 7 string and not a 6 I would've put this in the 7 string discussion.

Anywho, here's the story.

Scored a Randy Rhoads Professional w/hardshell case at a pawn shop, 230$.

Loads of dings, dents, paint chips, so I sanded them out, gutted the guitar and am swapping the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan Distortion

Finally got around to painting it.

First day, nothing done to it yet.

Sanded, had to clean the dust off before priming.

Primed, ready to be painted.

Painting done, now for 20 layers of clear coat.

This thing shall be sweet when it's done.

And btw, any tips?

Try not to get clear coat in any of the cavities. Even just a little bit in the neck joint cavity really screws up the fit and alignment. Use some good tape and tape off all the open areas.

Other than that, it looks like you have a good handle on what you're doing

Dumple Stilzkin will become famous soon enough
NJ man, absolute score at that price too, I had an older (90) rhoads neck thru, the one with MOP sharkies and the whole lot, schaller floyd. That played just as good if not better than some USA model guitars, and I HATE to say it, but was on par with my custom shop 91 RR1.

Nice job. I'd mask all of the cavities if I were you before clear coating. Also, try to let the coats cure as much as possible before you take the guitar off the hanger.

nice job man!

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.
