New Slipknot Video

I know the song's been posted before, but not sure about the video, it's pretty badass. Not too keen on Cory's new mask though ...

I'm not really digging it. However, I'm totally hooked on the riff that starts at 3:43... it's so stompy, i'm a sucker for that kind'a groove

Really digging everything except the chorus, and the solo... they don't really match the aggressiveness of the the rest of the song at all.

The chorus does have a really cool melody IMO. With a proper bridge it wouldn't be so noticeable. But as is, it's quite a transition.

The song pwns face though.

I love the way Jim Root rocks that Tele.

Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance only hides the truth. And the longer that truth has to hide, the more it stings when it makes itself known.

Mebs drop A, but I doubt it. They tend to use detuned drop D variations, so the majority, if not all, of their songs/albums are in Drop D -1 1/2 or sometimes Drop D -2 1/2 (e.g. My plague, Everything Ends and the Heretic anthem).

Fot those who don't know, Drop D -1 1/2 is B-F*-B-E-G*-C*
and Drop D -2 1/2 is A-E-A-D-F*-B
(* means sharp, my keyboard has no hash key... )

TBH I don't actually know Drop A's tunings (never used Drop A), so if Drop A is another way of saying Drop D -2 1/2, plz tell me...

I like Mick's new white MTM1, might have to nab me one of them wee beasties one day!

Oh, also, I shoulda said what I think of the viddy wid... It FUCKIN ROCKS !!!

(Then again I'm kinda biased........)

yeah it is, drop A is drop D down 5 steps, they're usually in Drop B, and have only ever used drop B or drop A

i've always admired the way the slipknot boys approach a solo. they're fantastic shredders but they tend to shy away from it and do something a bit weird. Nice tele style tone to it also

Are you sure it's A-E-A-D-F#-B ? Both the other guitarist & myself play in 'drop A' and our 5th string is a G instead of F#. Could be we just do it differently but I've never been that big into theory and scales & such.
