What do you think of this concept i came up with?

since i have to build a les paul copy at roberto-venn, i sat down and drew out what i wanted to do, then i translated it to some online virtual guitar builder thing... i'd probably go alder body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and i'm thinking i'd probably extend the middle most black ray up to the headstock, would give it a very neat feel... a pair of white x2n's, itd sound pretty insane i think. oh, and chrome tuning machines...

Nice concept. I think it's a bit shit that you can only build LP copies. If you're paying them the money you should be able to build whatever you damn well want!

well, first guitar is an acoustic, 2nd is a les paul copy, and if you have the time and money, 3rd is what you want.

Does it have to be a "Les Paul copy" or can it be any set-neck solidbody? That seems like quite a change from their past curriculum.

i guess i'll find out when i get there... but now that i've designed it i wanna build it

it looks like from the last class it might be any set neck solid body...

Nice, I probably woulda went for the "rising sun" graphic in black/white, but this is more unique.

someone else said it reminded them of that... it makes me think of a burst of light coming from the central point....

Looks like quite a few bolt-ons and neck-thrus in there as well, so it might be more open. All of them seem to have multi-laminate bodies, though, so they do probably require that the body have some joinery involved.

I'm really envious. There's nothing i'd love to do more than to quit my job and study at R-V for a few months, but i just can't swing the financial commitment to do so.
