Ibanez Model Numbers

Is there any rhyme or reason to Ibanez model numbers? I thought I saw something a while back that had a breakdown, but I cant seem to find it.

That was an interesting thread Zerosignal. My RGT6exfx looks like it'd be MIJ, but it is made in Korea though.

I was considering a cheap RG321MH or RGR421EXFM, and I've wondered where both would be made. Looks like they could be made pretty much anywhere lol.

RG's made before a certain date (2001? I'll be corrected anyhow) without the 'Prestige' stamp are not MIJ. Other shapes are different of course.

Gotcha. I was just going by the linked thread that looked like it was saying mine would be MIJ....I think.

I played a Prestige finally the other day....was very nice, but can't say it just blew away my Korean krap

I tried search first. I searched for Ibanez Model Numbers and it didnt show up. Weird.

Um, "after 2003", not "before 2001". A 1999 RG570 was not prestige, and was very much MIJ.. 2003 marked the year where all MIJ went Prestige.
