Epiclore

My friend told me about these guys months back and I've only just now gotten a hold on their stuff. I must say I'm very impressed.

Interesting power/progressive metal act. Their singer's unusual style of laid-back midrange singing actually compliments the music very well. Everything is very tastefully written and guitar wankery levels are at an absolute minimum.

I'm normally not a huge fan of power metal stuff, but these guys are actually pretty cool. A few songs miss the mark, but a lot of their stuff is really catchy. And they've put it all up on their site for free download. That alone is reason enough to give these guys a listen.

My only real complaint is that the guitar tone is really, really, REALLY lifeless.

EDIT: Well, it's only really bad in the first few songs in that player. It gets better later on.

Damn, when I first read epiclore I thought it was a blend of epic metal and metalcore

The only creative accounting I have seen is Bush's plan to balance the budget by 2015.
