I remember, when I was in school, we had a troupe come in who performed using these big 10'-12' tall puppets that could be controlled by one or two people. I'd imagine something like that'd be feasible, and would be easy enough to observe from the audience.

I always saw it in my head as a cheesy sci-fi movie with goofy costumes and crappy special effects. A Henson muppet movie would be great, though! Man, I miss those things. They were awesome. Too bad they've just been relegated to Sesame Street and other such shows.
