What gauge for Low E?

In trying out new tunings, i was considering putting a guitar in an octave down at e, what gauge should you use for that? I have no clue.
I'm thinking EEADGBE

I as standard use 9-12-16-24-32-44 so as low E I suggest 080 but it's extreme difference but you want octave lower note, so you have to live with that

Double the gauge you use for E standard is a good place to start.

Like Petrucci I use 647 gauge strings with those patented razor edges. If it doesn't hurt and make your fingers bleed, you'll never shred to one billion.

Maybe like a .72- .75 or something. I got away with using a .65 in G on 25.5 scale. Ernie Ball makes all the way up to a .90 in guitar strings so go nuts.

Scale length? It also depends quite a bit on your preferences concerning tension and light/heavy gauges, etc.
