As far as the mix, I'm with sakeido, pretty much. Bring up the vocals (from a producing standpoint, more "oomph" to them wouldn't hurt, either), and just EQ a bit of the boominess out. It's not much... just a tad. It's 90% perfect. ![]() http://www.wolf.org |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For the mix, I would say bring up the bass some. I kinda' like the vocals not so up front. Electric Wizard style. ![]() Too much blood in my alcohol system |

Yea there is bass, its very low though. I tune it an octave below the guitars, so its an octave below the bass. I used a lot of different tones depending on how prominent the bass needed to be...like on Slowly Downward it kind of drives the whole verse, so its very prominent there. Other times, not so much. Its an ESP 4 string, by the way. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i like the vocals sitting back like that, if there were to be any screaming, then i'd say raise the volume for the sceams, but i too like the vocals a little less in your face, but overall, very cool shit man, you need to get a band together |

![]() | About the vocals: I spent about 8 months recording drums/guitar/bass and waiting/hoping to find a singer. I never did, and rather than sit on an hour of music I decided to do the vocals myself. I'd never sang before in my life or fancied myself as one at all. I hated doing the vocals but since Ive let people hear it and they actually gave positive reviews, I'll be way more confident in doing them in the future. I did all the vox in like two weeks, really off the cuff type stuff. I was confident that they'd be the weakest link in the recording but Ive been really amazed that people have had positive things to say. It was really weird because for the first week I absolutely hated everything I did, I had basically given up when I finally did something I thought sounded kind of cool. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You've got a Maynard James Keenan thing going on with the vocals.. it suits the music perfectly, honestly, I can't really see it working better with anything else. A screamer especially would ruin it for me. _________________________ "Ah, she's built like a steakhouse but she handles like a bistro" - ZB My Soundclick Page |
