Kamelot owns.

Epica and The Black Halo sound be required listening to be human.

They aren't trendy enough to get radio airtime.

Did anyone else think of Robbie Williams when he started singing?

The music is great but I'm not a fan of the vocals.

Actually, that's kind of my point. He's got a great "almost-pop" vibe to his vocals that really makes them very accessible. Many of my non-musician non-metalhead friends listen to Kamelot regularly.

Again, I agree it's not the best song they've ever done... but I think it's a good example of the style and the very polished sound that I think could really make it big in the "mainstream" if they were marketed towards it properly.

Not that they HAVE to make it in the mainstream, but I think it would be cool, and stylistically and sound-wise there's plenty on the radio that is leading in this direction.

but seriously.. does this kind of music play on radios in America? I mean, if I'm lucky Metallica gets one song played in the duration of 8 hours (the radio on my job is on non-stop) here in Norway.

Hell no you don't hear this kind of stuff on the radio in America. There are metal bands that are way, way, WAY catchier than this that don't get played on the radio either. "real" metal isn't that popular and I don't think it ever will be.

Kamelot is awesome, period, and they were a blast on the Ghost Opera tour with Simone (she also sang a LOT more than just The Haunting).

Khan was also amazingly cool to the fans. He was fighting a major cold and looked like he was going to fall over and still told security to back off and did some photos with fans and stuff on the way to the bus. I mean the club was like 98 freaking degrees and I was ready to fall over after the show and I wasn't sick
