i read this yesterday, highly interesting and obviously a "must" to read.

the only thing i do not understand is, due to a little lack of english-skills: whats meant with "points"? e.g.: "he wants 100 g's and three points" or "The old label only wants 50 grand, an no points. Hell, Sub Pop got 3 points when they let Nirvana go."

Points are a percentage of the sales. So 3 points is 3% of the sales.
