Bleh... I hate The Streets.

This is just TERRIBLE!
The singing part is okay, and I admit I like the beat a little... But his 'rapping' has no rhythm, he sounds bored... And it just sounds stupid. When I first heard this, I though it was a joke or something, as if the whitest british kid was pretending to rap to make fun of rap. Then I realized he was serious.

I know there are some people that like him, but I just can't see why... I listen to a little bit of rap here and there, but I don't know how anyone can call this 'rapping'...

Anyone else heard of him?

In any language that you learn to speak -- love is twisted and defined as weak

TheMissing's GAScon status: GAScon 4... I'm doing pretty good at the moment.

I Really Like Ibanez Seven String Guitars

Origanally posted by Variant - Pulled from the river Styx, the mighty black oar of doom in hand! I certainly would not call this particular guitar an "axe" more like a club. Whereas Noodles' KxK would run through an emo, spilling his insides for a quick death, this blunt mace would bludgeon the unfortunate effeminate soul, breaking bones, bruising muscle, and causing internal bleeding to lead only to a slow, painful death

I absolutely fucking hate them. Im fairly closed-minded when it comes to hip-hop, the minute anyone starts rapping in a song (even if its a metal song) i immediately hate it, but this crap is even worse than usual.

Life is a waste of time, time is a waste of life.
Get wasted all the time and you'll have the time of your life!

I <3 Hip-hop, not really into The Streets, they're a pretty big English band though...maybe us Brits can tolerate the accent more

There is nothing good about The Streets. Nothing.

Ive got "A Grand Don't Come For Free" and "Original Pirate Material". It's alright. Its more of just listening to what hes saying rather than how hes saying it to the beat or whatever.

Esp Griffyn has a spectacular aura about
It's not rap so much as it is spoken word over garage beats. I've never heard Mike Skinner refer to himself as a "rapper".

I don't like "Original Pirate Material", but "A Grand don't come for free" is a pretty decent album. What impresses me is the way Mike manages to take the ordinary and mundane and put it into a song. These are everyday songs for everyday people, stuff about your phone battery dying, flirting with girls or arguing with someone in the pub about the dangers of cannabis against the dangers of alcohol.

Yeah, everyday topics about how hard it is for a popstar to make it with another popstar while keeping your dealer on a short leash...
