Possible band name?

Well, we only have a few songs written, we don't have a permanent bass player, and we don't have a singer yet, but we figured it was high time we at least came up with a band name.

So, I ask you guys: what do you think of the band name "Sonic Imperium"?

Pulling definitions off of Dictionary.com, Sonic pertains to "Of or relating to audible sound: a sonic wave", or "Slang. Extremely exciting and fast-paced: a sonic lifestyle" and Imperium pertaining to "Absolute rule; supreme power" or "A sphere of power or dominion; an empire" or "Law. The right or power of a state to enforce the law".

Personally, I think the band name sounds fucking badass. I'm just curious as to what you guys think of it. And no, you may NOT have the band name, it's mine.

unless John Petrucci decides to join your band, you might want to steer clear of all things "supreme"

what about, Sonic And The Hedgehogs? of course, you may need to slap a SEGA sticker to your guitar to get away with it lol.

Sonic Imperium sounds good.

That'd be kinda funny, cause our drummer is named Matt too. Ha, the arguements would ensue for sure about who the band was named after...Oh well, since everyone I know calls me Legz (long story, and none of you get to find out!

Meh, I'm not too keen on it.

Rule of thumb, if you're opening a dictionary, especially a latin one, for your band name, you should either be dressed like Manowar or so good that nobody cares what you look like.

I'm not keen on it either. I think your about 20 years too late for names like that.

In an age with band names like "Death Cab For Cutie", pretentious names like "Sonic Imperium" will just bring ridicule upon thee. You may as well call yourself Yngwie's Donut. Hmm. Donuts....
