Got any songs that just take you back to another place and time?

For me, this is the main song like that for me.

I hear that song and I'm automatically back to 8th grade. I swear, that song would come on the radio almost everyday after school on the way home for quite a while, and I loved it every time.

So, what songs and memories do you have running together?

There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
And it's filled with people who are filled with shit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it
But not for long ...

whenever i hear road trippin' by rhcp i am back and the camping grounds in summer with all my mates

Two Princes by Spin Doctors and You Say (Stay) by Lisa Loeb take me back to my early years. I didn't know what the songs where called or who they were by untill I was about 10 or 11 so I thought I'd dreamt them up. I remember when I found out what they were and I'll never forget how happy I was. It was amazing!

The entire Van Halen 1984 album. Always feel like I'm back to slugging away on my parents concrete retainer wall, or cruising around in my ex-brother-in-laws Gremlin smelling like skunk-weed before going to school.

Going back just a little further anything off the Foreigner 4 album sends me back to tweaking the color organ I had strung around my bedroom to get it flashing just perfectly with the song.

Yeah, I'm getting old.

all music is like that for me, If I listen to an old record I heard in highschool I instantly remember a bunch of stuff, even smells and tastes and things like that.

The entire "Stranger Than Fiction" album by Bad Religion. Takes me back to my youth, first cd I ever owned. I know, I'm only 23, still young....

Well im kinda younger, so some of it isn't from the time. But the songs that bring me back are "Epic" by Faith No More and anything by mr Jimi Hendrix (cause my dad was massively into him).

Then there are the less awsome things like Backstreet Boys and Limp Bizkit but lets not go there... ok... ok? I grew up in the 90's but it feels like I grew up in the 80's when it comes to music and ESPECIALLY movies. EVERYTHING I watched in my child hood was from the 80's. Good old 80's action flicks and horror films. And the gems like Short Circuit. Those were the days...
