Pics of the Loomis in action, plus a couple quick singer questions

So my band played a show friday night and it was my first show with my Loomis, and I just wanted to share some crappy pictures with you guys. My Xiphos was a great guitar, but this guitar CRUSHES it IMHO. I'm not just saying that cause it's a new guitar and the honeymoon phase, it's legit. The neck is thicker which for my large hands makes things SO much more comfortable and I was able to play the gig hand cramp free. And the thing just looks and sounds AMAZING, I can't wait to hear it with some blackouts! It just feels more like a guitar meant to be played and not so focused on looks I guess, in any event I'm not knocking the Xiphos, but this guitar is perfect for me! anyways, onto the pics!

so that brings me to my question...my band plays a blend of classic/progressive/melo-death metal. We have been looking for ages for a singer but we can't find one that fits the bill of what we're looking for. I can do the uber-low death growls like Opeth really well no problem so we're not concerned with that. What we need is someone with a set of PIPES that can really BELT it out, midrange to higher screams is a plus but we want someone with a powerful voice that can sing their ass off! and we really want a frontman with great charisma and presence to get the crowd going with enthusiasim. think of Divine Heresy, Evergrey, Iced Earth, Into Eternity, Iron maiden, KSE, Mercenary, nevermore, Opeth, Outworld, Queensryche, Scar Symmetry, Sevendust, or Symphony X (I think a guy like Russell Allen would be fucking PERFECT!) to get an idea of what I'm talking about here.

I'm not saying they have to be a power metal singer or melodeath singer from sweden, but each of these bands have instantly recognizable singers that sound unique and have vocalists that can sing their ASS off. My point here is we have looked high and low, and have found NOTHING! we've posted ads on craigslist, myspace, networked with local bands and clubs and people, almost anything you can imagine. Where should we be looking to find the right kind of singer? Are there any tips or tricks that we're missing? This is just very frustrating, we're ready to start getting the ball on this thing seriously rolling and most clubs won't book us cause we dont have a singer! help me out here guys!

Fuck it, you only live once!

I don't have any ideas to help about the whole singer situation. I can't even find a singer for my band who I like. Sorry man.

Sweet looking guitar though! These are the first shots I've seen with the TOM. It definately looks like it'd fit you better than the Xiphos. Is that a dampener I see above the nut? If so, what are you using for it?

Yes, I have a dampener behind the nut as well as behind the bridge too where the strings string thru the body. I use this stuff and it works better than anything else I have ever tried:

My advice for your singer dilemnia? Beat up Periphery and steal Casey Sabol. :P

Well if I was able to I certainly would do that, as I love Casey's vocals. But that's not a viable option.

Don't necessarily looks for a Metal singer, in fact, don't even mention a style in your ads - I get more results that way, and often enough I end up with a few "You, know, I never thought I'd like this, but this is awesome!" candidates.
