VID: tom waits

sometimes i forget just how much this chap means...

on one of what many could argue is one of his very best tunes (ever, IMO), notice here how live he's practically full-on death metal. amazing.

Tom Waits can tickle my funnybone like no other. He can also move me to tears like no other. He's on my shortlist of artists to see live before I die.

Honestly, I never understood why this guy is hailed as some genius. To me, his voice always sounded like an old crusty pirate singing songs to swing your grog to.

*great inhale of breath to the point of almost collasping*

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think he's revolutionary, unique and been a constant supply of inspiration and extreme performance for all these years. I haven't yet seen something to fault him.

Hal, I fuckin' love you, man. There's far too little Tom Waits love around this place, and you just went up about 50 points in my book for posting a Waits video.

What song is it, by the way? Youtube is blocked on our office network... :/

Um, so what the fuck's the problem then? That's sort of the POINT.
