Morbid Angel - God Of Emptiness, appreciation thread

That's the one thing I always LOVED about Morbid Angel, that they could create fast and slow parts with equal amounts of coolness. Thye never had that fear of "well, if our parts aren't a million miles an hour at all times we won't be cool".

But that wasn't their crowning achievement IMO.
GOE is good, really good. But this is pure genius.

I've said it before, but in the unlikely event I ever marry, I want this song as the wedding march...

'Covenant' was the first death metal album I ever owned, and it's still probably my favourite MA record.

But the first time i've seen a 7 was in the video "You can't bring me down" of Suicidal Tendencies, when i see Rocky George in the beggining of the video doing a solo and that crazy tap thing i was like "Shit, i want that white guitar", then a notice it have 7 strings.

I've always had the feeling that when you play lower stuff they sound better on slower tempo(beat).

I'm pretty sure Gateways To Annihilation and Heretic consist almost entirely of seven-string songs, with only two or three tracks between them played on six-string... then again, I haven't listened to those albums in ages so I could be wrong. A through D are where it's at y0

Good to know, i will be checking these ones but, honestly, with Steve Tucker MA are just not the same MA that i like.

The only one thats really a mis-step for morbid angel is heretic. its got a decent ammount of good tracks, but its just not great. Gatesways and Formula's on the other hand are awesome. Gatesways was mostly 7's too.
