Bands/projects (with only one release) you wish never broke up...

I had the idea to write this thread because I was listening to Passengerīs self-titled CD from 2003. Passenger, for the ones who donīt know, is the side-project from Anders Friden (In Flames) with some guys from Gardenian. It has a mix of modern metal with swedish and american influences, very chuggy and heavy, but catchy stuff with very good choruses and melodies.

Everytime I listen to it I think "why doesnīt it have a sequel?". I think itīs better than some In Flames records, honestly.

Other bands/projects I miss are:

2wo - Yes, the Rob Halford project, hated by many, it rocks as much as Judas and Fight to me.

Five Bolt Main - Chris Volzīs (Flaw) other band, only released one cd in 2005, very good stuff.

Dark New Day - Well, they had a second CD recorded, but I doubt it will see the light of the day.

Nailbomb - Max Cavalera and Alex Newport jamming and doing weird stuff. Too bad it never happened again.

Anyway, the purpose of this thread is to discover good abandoned bands and projects.

Billy Corgan- The Future Embrace

Essentially, his solo group. I loved that album, and I still do. Many people call it shit, I think its better than most of the stuff he did with the pumpkins.

I'm going to make this pencil disapper

Have to agree with the Corgan and 2wo opinions, exceptional albums which went unrecognized.

Actually, DND just got the okay from Warner for the 2nd release so stay tuned for that.

I really liked Neurotica, I wish they had stuck around longer.

I have to agree/disagree with you on Five.Bolt.Main.

They wrote some good music, but Flaw is so much better. I haven't heard much from them lately, I wonder if they're stilling playing shows. I know they got back together with Jason, Lance, and Chris, but not Ryan. Then Jason left again.

I agree that Flaw is better but I think they could come up with a second release for 5BM. Very good stuff!

Mad Season.
Great lineup, great music.

I just read up on Flaw. Ryan Jurhs rejoined and they got a new permanent second guitarist and are working on a 3rd CD. I've never been so excited about a CD. They are my favorite band, seriously.

I don't think FBM will be making any more CDs, though, unfortunately.
